Martin Dubois

    Author-composer and professional musician since 1996 (drummer, percussionist, flautist, singer, arranger…), inspired teacher, constantly renewed by the cultural richness of all the encounters along the way.

    From the age of 9 Martin started learning the drums, at the conservatories of Tours, Compiègne and St Germain en Laye, until he was 18 years old. Then he returned to the C.I.M., school of Jazz in Paris. For four years he studied drums, percussion, harmony, singing, piano and arrangements. He obtained the DESMM in 1990. An apprenticeship by direct experience in contact with all these professionals during masterclass, teachings and jam sessions with Paco Sery, Angélique Kidjo, Bojan Z, Yvan Julien, Christiane Legrand and many others…

    He is living in Touraine since 1992. He has worked with several Fusion groups: Wa, Mbata Kongo, Afro-reggae-rap influences, and Namastéj, influences from India, through the production of CDs, concerts and festivals in France. Since 1999, he composes and produces performances for and with children of all ages, including the trilogy “Les rêves de Wanané” and interactive musical tales, with “La Compagnie des Enfants Unis”. At the same time, he learned Indian tablas, with Amrat Hussain and his father Ustad Rafeek Mohamad in Jaipur, India. It was at this time that he began to practice the Kena (Andean Flute) and the flute bansuri (Indian flute).

    He is also involved in teaching percussion courses, Mongolian diaphonic chants, sound yoga, musical siesta…
